Are All Oils Equal?

The obvious answer to this question is no. Motor Oil is not the same as Olive Oil, so when it comes to anointing with oil the Biblical scriptures only mentions a few kinds of oils. 

1) Olive Oil is the only oil ever mentioned in scripture in the KJV Bible and every mention of physical oil, is speaking about Olive Oil, anointing oil or ointment made from an Olive Oil Base.

2) Anointing Oil: Anointing oil was made according to a specific recipe in Exodus as commanded by God to Moses and was to be used by the priest for consecration and for healing with prayer.

3) Ointment: these were historically made using botanicals infused into Olive Oil for therapeutic uses. 

4) Perfume when the bible speaks of perfume it is speaking of what we call today essential oils, which were extracted from different plants through stream or alcohol extraction.

The History of Anointing with Oil

In Luke chapter 10, in response to the question "who is my neighbor?" Jesus tells the story of the Good Samaritan, who treated a hurt man with mercy by applying "oil and wine" to his wounds and taking him to safe place after he was beaten by thieves.

At the end Jesus Christ commanded "now go and do likewise". 

Is Anointing Oil a Spiritual Weapon?

Oil and ointments and herbs are a natural way to treat wounds, and for health benefits since the creation of the world, and the only way mentioned in the bible for these things along with humility and prayer.
